Qwerty model approval checklist
Check the exact model, how it runs on your Macs and who has approved it for use. A catalog listing or successful start is not production approval.

- Record the publisher, repository, source revision, model identity and intended use.
- Review the license and your organization's rights to use the model.
- Record file hashes and verify the files' integrity.
- Record the runtime version, quantization, context length and inference settings.
- Check hardware, memory, storage and operating-system requirements.
Try the work it needs to do
- Choose representative inputs and a baseline for comparison.
- Agree on how a reviewer will score correctness, cited sources and stated uncertainty.
- Measure cold and warm task times. Record the number of runs, range of results and memory use.
- Test allowed and denied agent actions, human approvals and observed network behavior.
- Record safety and security findings that affect the permitted workflow.
Check authorization and promotion
Keep the organization policy, entitlement, trusted verification material, signed manifest, certification records and signed promotion record with the model. Check the package and model together. A candidate model, a model that runs, a certified model and a promoted model are separate states; completing one stage does not complete the others.
Record the decision
Record the profile ID, supporting test and document references, reviewer, decision date, permitted uses, known limits and reasons to test again. Block production promotion when required files or supporting records are missing.
What this checklist covers
Public model descriptions help with planning. The July 17, 2026 engineering report marked that build as not ready for production release. This checklist does not declare any model approved for production.
